Taylor Swift, one of the most inspirational and influential artists, announced her sixth studio album, Reputation, which features her new single “Look What You Made Me Do.” From country music to pop music, Swift’s listeners never know what to expect next. Swift writes in her new single, “I’m sorry but old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh… ‘cause she’s dead.” She stands by these lyrics after wiping her social media of the “old Taylor” and sets the tone for the both her upcoming album and the upcoming year. The lyrics throughout the song touch on the lies and betrayal she has faced over the years with other artists, friends and acquaintances. Swift has faced years of scrutiny from the media for singing publicly about her relationships, but she continues to use her music, specifically this song, to show her fans the thick skin she has acquired over the years and her desire for revenge.

This highly anticipated album with surely be on the top charts for months as her last album was titled album of the year. While she only released one single, there are definitely more to come within the next few months. Her long awaited album will debut on November 10th, 2017.
